The resigned Opel boss Karl Thomas Neumann can count on a premium, if the planned sale of the Rüsselsheim automaker to the French rival PSA (Peugeot, Citroën) is completed. After the so-called closing Neumann are entitled to up to two million euros. The actual amount of the bonus still depends on the achievement of certain profit targets. The condition for the payment is that Neumann still belongs to the Opel management at the time of the change of ownership. This condition he will probably meet: On Monday Neumann had given his office to the previous CFO Michael Lohscheller, but at the same time announced that he would still remain a member of the board until the sale of the previous Opel owner General Motors PSA was completed. Opel does not want to comment on “Questions about contracts and compensation”.
