All around the world, cities are asking a similar question: How do we make it easier, cleaner and more efficient for our citizens to get around?
At Ford, we’re committed to helping cities everywhere make it easier for people to move reliably and comfortably — and in a way that gets unnecessary vehicles off the roads.
That’s why we’re launching our Chariot commuter service in London — marking the first step in its expansion beyond the United States and Chariot’s first city of operation in Europe.
Chariot will run its 14-passenger, Wi-Fi-enabled, air-conditioned vehicles initially on four routes. The routes were designed based on detailed analysis of areas that are harder to reach via current public transport, with the aim of helping people more efficiently get through the first and last legs of their commutes. Chariot is not a replacement for public transport; rather, it complements the city’s existing services by helping people access them more easily.
This is the kind of approach we’re taking with Chariot in every city, no matter where it is. We want to tailor the experience to serve people in the best way possible — providing a better commute and improving existing transit systems while moving everyone toward a cleaner, less-congested environment all of us can enjoy.
