Arc Vehicle has revealed that it will release its first new electric motorcycle, the Vector, at the Milan motorcycle show (EICMA) next month.
The company is a brand-new British manufacturer, created by Mark Truman, with Arc Vehicle Ltd being established 18 months ago.
The business, who are based in Coventry, claim the vehicle to be the safest and cleanest motorcycle ever.
Sensor technology
Human Machine Interface (HMI) technology will be reportedly integrated. HMI is a type of haptic technology, and this could mean a jacket or suit, helmet and possibly even gloves and boots could contain sensors and reactive panels that are able to interact with the bike, and the environment.
This could inform a user if they were about to pull out in front of a car, or for example create vibrations through sensors if a rider is about to head around a corner too fast.
Mark Truman, CEO of Arc Vehicle Ltd, said: “Technology, performance, safety and experience come together like never before on two wheels.
“The Vector is more than just the world’s most premium electric motorcycle; it’s the world’s first motorcycle with integrated multisensory HMI, it’s an innovative heads-up display helmet and it’s a tactile riding suit – all making up the most involving motorcycle experience on the market today.”

Last month TM visited Marchant Cain who are based in Coventry. The business specialise in the design, development and manufacture of door systems, including window regulators, electrochromic glass and active aerodynamic components.
They are pushing industry forward, with the business doubling both their turnover and staff count in just the last two years.
Pam Cain, co-director, told TM: “We need to be thinking what is out there, what is happening? How can we fit in what we do, augment it, adapt it, change it, develop it, to fit more markets and serve current ones?”

Matrix, a specialist Coventry-based machine tool manufacturer is set to create 30 new jobs as it expands into a new headquarters.
The firm, which manufactures specialist grinding machines, currently employs around 30 members of staff, but the expansion will enable Matrix Machine Tools Ltd to double its workforce.
Paul Farndon, chief operating officer of Matrix, said to The Manufacturer: “Our current production facilities are at maximum capacity and restricting our growth within the global market. With the new manufacturing facility we will be able to considerably increase our output and increase our global market share.”

Coventry-based manufacturer, Aurrigo is playing the largest role in the world’s first ever multi connected and autonomous vehicle demonstration today.
