The trade unions on the FCA plan: “We believe in full employment, even in Mirafiori”

“We were looking forward to this meeting and we received a detail on the 2019-2021 plan and we had confirmation of a very important amount of investments as regards Italy”, is the first comment of the unions at the end of the meeting with the top management FCA and in particular for voice of Rocco Palombella, general secretary of Uilm.

“The 5 billion have already been scheduled and are a robust part of about 8 for all of EMEA. There are no more expectations and investments are already scheduled, some plants will already receive new models”. Among these, the electric 500 at Mirafiori. “New and innovative model, which will be the flagship of production”, he says. “Then the Jeep Compass in Melfi and the Panda in Pomigliano, which does not go away and that will also have a new model of compact SUV, we assume that it will lead to full employment”.

A hope that hopefully can also be applied to Mirafiori. “A model that we hope will dominate the market and, together with the models already in production, we hope will give Mirafiori full employment”. And for Maserati Grugliasco “the prospect is that the existing models such as Ghibli, Levante and Quattroporte (also hybridized) will be renewed”, adds Ferdinando Uliano, Fim Cisl’s car manager.

“We are very satisfied because, after the plan presented by Marchionne, there is a concentration of investments in terms of years, between new models and hybridization of existing ones”, adds Marco Bentivogli, general secretary of Fim Cisl. “The exit from the diesel has instead been postponed but it will produce an evolution”.

“In the world of automotivd there are two types of attitude – says Roberto Di Maulo, general secretary Fismic – who announces dismissals like General Motors and who instead passes to the application of new models. The government must also take this into account”.
