The car rental app for ride-hailing drivers, DriveItAway, purchased the technology and assets of Whip Inc. and ended its partnership with HyreCar.

The purchase of Whip included its operations and technology team lead by transportation as a service professional Adam Potash. DriveItAway ended its partnership with HyreCar in order to fulfill its mission of working exclusively with automotive retailers.

DriveItAway’s new platform, created exclusively for car dealers, focuses on the “low hanging fruit” of current shared mobility offerings, in providing an advanced driver app and experience to facilitate temporary carsharing vehicles to rideshare (Lyft, Uber) drivers. It also includes the ability for a dealer to offer new and used vehicle subscriptions, and even dealer centered peer-to-peer carsharing.
