Food deliveries: Meituan with Nvidia, Valeo and Icona

The Chinese company Meituan wants to automate its food deliveries and relies on industry sizes.

Delivering foods with autonomous vehicles is becoming increasingly strong trend, Now there is another player in this market that operates in China: Meituan.

The Chinese company cooperates with the companies for this Nvidia, Valeo and Icona, as seen on the occasion of CES 2019 in Las Vegas announced. Meituan is the largest on-demand food supplier in China and recently joined the stock market,

At the CES, the supplier was the first time to present its Autonomous Delivery Platform: Meituan Autonomous Delivery (MAD). French supplier Valeo will supply the engines and sensors for Meituan’s automated vehicles. For the test operation one uses the technology competence of Nvidia. The design takes over the Italian company Icona.

Other partners of Meituan, who also participated in the MAD platform, are Uditech, Segway-GX, iDriverPlus and Roadster. They have already been integrated as partners last year. The concept of automatic delivery still provides for people. In future, however, an interaction of drones and Autonomous delivery trucks to facilitate the human job. The orders are thus collected by the restaurants and put together for the travelers.
