It should bring the self-drive start-up Zoox now all the way forward: the former Intel manager Aicha Evans. As the young company announced today, it has committed Evans as the new CEO. The graduate engineer worked for the tech group for more than twelve years and since 2017 she has been on the supervisory board of SAP.
With Zoox Evans now wants to bring a commercial robot taxi service on the streets next year. And the competition is huge: in the US, dozens of companies are currently working on the technology for self-driving vehicles. The field reaches from automakers and suppliers to IT corporations to specialized start-ups who have received millions in cash injections. These are the most promising and best-funded US start-ups in the field of autonomous driving.
