In Leipzig one plans the employment of an autonomous cleaning vehicle. A collaboration between Alba and Enway.

In China is there already? and in the drawers of some manufacturers lurking also already similar ideas: Autonomous cleaning vehicles. The idea has now been taken up by the startup Enway and is used by Alba as a test.

Enway uses the sweepers and equips them with the appropriate sensors, computing capacity and software. You also access one Artificial intelligence back so that the vehicles can learn.

The tests take place on a junkyard in Leipzig. There is enough work on junkyards and the area is demarcated. There is no foot traffic here and the other vehicles are quite slow. Before use, the terrain was measured. The generated data was poured into a 3D map.

The first test operation is planned for February. After the optimization of the vehicles, it is also about working with people.

Other projects, the garbage disposal company sees more skeptical. So the sensor in the garbage bin, to detect the level, less convenient than imagined. This is mainly due to the network coverage. For the garbage trucks in spe are to take over more functions. It’s all about gathering data on traffic, roads and garbage detection.
