Bridgestone and Iris Capital will study investments in new mobility services and Industry 4.0

MADRID, Jan. 17 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The European division of Japanese tire manufacturer Bridgestone, Bridgestone Europe, has reached an agreement with the venture capital firm Iris Capital to collaborate in the field of corporate entrepreneurship and venture capital contributions to explore and invest in new mobility services and in Industry 4.0.

According to the two companies, in a joint statement, this cooperation will also analyze the feasibility of investing in digital transformation technologies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Bridgestone said that this alliance is part of its transformation from a tire manufacturer to a mobility solutions provider, while Iris Capital invests in digital companies that are really disruptive in different sectors.

The objective of this agreement is to intensify and extend the strategy of the two open innovation firms and also to promote the company’s transformation path to new mobility services.

Thus, the two companies will work together to support the best business initiatives, based on the knowledge of the Bridgestone industry and the funding experience of Iris Capital startups.
