The electric car maker Tesla provides his recommendation program on February 1, 2019, Tesla incurred by the program now too high costs, which would then have to be applied to the cars tweeted company boss Elon Musk. This is particularly hindering the Model 3. One reason for the cost pressure could be the lowered prices in China – these affect both the Model 3 and the Model S and the Model X.

With the bonus program, Tesla owners were able to recommend the vehicles to friends and acquaintances. There were bonuses like six months of free loading on Tesla’s Superchargers. Youtuber also used the program.

There are also reports that the referral program was so successful that Tesla had to give away around 80 new roadsters. So-called secret levels were invented last year, such as the Roadster Founder Series Discount Secret Level. Tesla started offering discounts on the upcoming roadster. After five referrals, attendees reached the level and received two percent off per new referral. Tesla kept the program running for too long: some attendees began to reach the threshold for a free roadster. Some even collected enough referrals for two free Founder Series roadsters, like Electrek reported.

Tesla launched the 2015 Referral Program. The company has its own showrooms, but no dealers, and does not use traditional advertising.
