Sono Motors has the collaboration with Bosch announcedto organize car and ride sharing services as well as power sharing. Power sharing means that one electric car can at least partially charge another. From Bosch, in addition to the central control unit of the Sion with solar cells, a software-based solution for networking the electric car is to come. The Bosch Automotive Cloud Suite is the basis for these mobility services.

Sono Motors wants to make the vehicles as accessible to as many users as possible. “Private vehicles remain unused for an average of 23 hours a day, aggravating the problem of tight urban parking spaces and are often used by just one person, so central to our vehicle concept is the integrated mobility features,” said chief technology officer Roberto Diesel.

Sono Motors recently announced Continental as a supplier for the electric drive system of Sion and the partnership with Elringklinger for battery development and production. The electric motor should have a torque of 290 Newton meters and a power of 163 hp (121 kW). The 4.10 m long vehicle is to reach a maximum speed of 140 km / h.

The base price without battery should be around 16,000 euros. In addition, the battery comes with 35 kWh based on 51 Ah cells, which should cost at least 9,500 euros, which increases the price of the entire vehicle to 25,500 euros. Sono Motors aims for a range of 250 km per battery charge. The production of the Sion is scheduled to begin in late 2019.
