TOKYO, 6 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Japanese automobile consortium Toyota posted an attributed net profit of 1.42 trillion yen (11.386 billion euros at the current rate) in the first nine months of fiscal year 2018-2019 (between April and December 2018), a 29.3 % less, according to the data published by the company.

The company’s net profit in the first three quarters reflects the impact of the negative evolution of the company’s business in the North American region, which is opposed to the progress experienced in other geographical areas such as Japan, Europe or Asia.

The company’s Director of Operations, Masayoshi Shirayanagi, indicated that Toyota is making progress in achieving its corporate objectives, thanks to the cost reduction it is implementing.

The company closed the first nine months of fiscal year 2018-2019 with revenues of 22.47 billion yen (179.804 million euros), which translates into a 3.1% increase compared to the same period of 2017- 2018

The operating profit of the company managed by Akio Toyoda experienced a 9.5% progression in that period, up to 1.93 trillion yen (15,503 million euros), while its global sales totaled 6.7 million units, 0.3% more.

For the fiscal year as a whole, the multinational has revised its forecasts downwards, so that it estimates to post an attributed net profit of 1.87 trillion yen (14.90 million euros), 25% less, while its turnover will be of 29.5 trillion yen (236,000 million euros), 0.4% more.
