MADRID, Mar. 22 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The average price of second-hand cars stood at 11,981 euros in February, 0.5% less than in January, with Madrid as the autonomous community where the highest prices were recorded, with 13,351 euros on average, and the Canary Islands in the another extreme, being the cheapest, with an average of 10,465 euros, according to the National Association of Vehicle Dealers (Ancove).

Ancove pointed out that the market of second-hand cars is “very heterogeneous” and that, therefore, the comparison of prices from one province to another can vary due to several factors, such as the age of the vehicles.

In this regard, he stressed that where there are “many auto-registrations” of zero kilometers, that the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) counts as used vehicle operations, the price is higher, as well as the sales of the units coming from the rental companies, which are usually sold with between six and nine months of life.

The other factor that weighs “remarkably” on prices, according to Ancove, is the type of vehicle, both the model and the power and equipment.

Regarding the second-hand market of commercial vehicles, the average price of the vans used in February was 10,905 euros, with hardly any variation compared to the previous month, when the average price was 10,906 euros.
