Renault “becomes a partner of the E-VIA FLEX-E consortium, the first high-power charging network for electric vehicles in southern Europe,” the group said in a statement. This network, equipped with high-power charging stations (between 150 and 350 KW), reduces the charging time of electric vehicles. It is adapted to the needs of drivers traveling long distances.
They will be located along highways or expressways. At the beginning of the project, eight terminals will be installed in Italy, four in Spain and two in France.
The consortium now includes the Renault Group, ENEL, Nissan, EDF, Enedis, Verbund and IBIL. The project is funded in part by the European Commission’s CEF program “Connecting Europe Facility” for a total amount of € 6.9 million.
The Renault Group already participates in the Ultra-E and High Speed power mobility across Europe networks “located in northern Europe, with 25 and 158 charging stations respectively.”
