MADRID, 13 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The PSA Group plans to start up a fourth work shift in its Vigo plant in the coming months and a third in the center of Mangualde (Portugal), in order to respond to the commercial demand of the new ‘ludospace’ models of the Peugeot, Citroën and Opel / Vauxhall brands that will be launched on the market.
The company has developed three new generation models for the Peugeot, Citroën and Opel / Vauxhall brands, based on a new platform derived from the EMP2, which is manufactured in these two factories of the French consortium.
“These two factories of the Iberian Industrial Pole, with the best performance level of Grupo PSA, have undergone deep transformations to accommodate these new models,” said the car company.
The firm said that these new models, which are in the tourism derivatives segment, are part of the product offensive being carried out by PSA within the framework of the Core Model Strategy of the Push to Pass plan and pointed out that these versions of tourism will decline in the next few months in industrial versions.
The Director of Programs and Strategy, Olivier Bourgues, stressed that with this new competitive offer the company offers its private customers a new generation of ‘ludospace’ that will stand out both in design and in features.
“These models are, in addition, a new illustration of our Push to Pass plan: from a common base, today we present perfectly differentiated models and, each of them, inscribed in the DNA of each of our brands,” he added.
The French car company stressed that these vehicles are based on an unprecedented platform, based on the EMP2, and confirmed that they will have new engines and equipment to help with the latest generation of driving.
From PSA pointed out that this new generation of product will be offered to customers with two different lengths and, in both cases, with versions of five and seven seats, in order to respond to the needs of all customers.
