BMW Plug-In Electric Car Sales In U.S. Drop Below 1,000 In April

BMW is experiencing tough times in terms of plug-in electric car sales in the U.S.

April brings more of the same for BMW Group in the U.S. as plug-in electric car sales continue to decrease. Perhaps a new BMW EV will stop the decline.

The company reports a 52.3% sales drop, which makes the EV sales number so small that it even didn’t even appear in the press release. Assuming 1,973 sales in April 2018, then this April sales shrunk to 941. So, the share out of BMW’s overall volume of sales decreased to 3.6%.

BMW is also experiencing a significant shift in its business at the moment because passenger car sales decreased by 17.8%, while the light trucks/SUV segment went up 35.6%. The total BMW sales increased by 1.4% to 23,816.
