Mine operator Rio Tinto has taken away one billion tonnes of displacement with its Autonomous Vehicle Fleet.

The enterprise Rio Tinto operates the ore mining mainly in Australia, For the removal of the hub one uses Autonomer trucks and Trains,

The trucks that bring the earth away are Muldkipper equipped with the AHS (Autonomous Haulage System). Control is from a central location and positioning is via GPS,

They have been in operation since 2008, although it was still a test at that time. By now they have reached the milestone and driven around one billion tons of earth. In 2017 alone, these vehicles moved 25 percent of the hub into the Australian Pilbara mines,

The Autonomous Dump Truck manufacturer Komatsu and Caterpillar did 700 overtime hours last year compared to a human-powered truck, but saved 15 percent in costs. Above all, the company emphasizes the safety aspect, because it came to no injuries of people.

Currently 80 vehicles are in use and to the end 2019 it will be 140 pieces, which one wants to accelerate the mining of ores.
