Velodyne Expands Presence in Aerial-Mapping MarketMay 1, 2019|In Media Coverage|By Albie Jarvis

Improved price and performance are creating expanded
opportunities for lidar sensors in high-performing mapping systems.

A GIM
International story
discusses how Techmake Solutions, S.A., an IT
consulting and technology development company headquartered in Monterrey,
Mexico, is including Velodyne
lidar sensors
in its mapping and surveying system that runs on Eagle X unmanned
aerial vehicles (UAVs). The Eagle X system will be introduced this year in
Mexico, Central America, and South America.

In discussing Velodyne sensors, Ing. David González P., CEO of Techmake Solutions,
said:

“Velodyne’s lidar sensors deliver the most accurate
real-time, high-resolution data in the industry. Their performance,
lightweight, and compact form factor helped us to design an easy-to-use system
that can be configured to fit a company’s specific mapping needs. Eagle X
eliminates customer fear of not being able to buy a lidar mapping system or not
being able to use it due to inadequate local support.”

With lidar sensors making it quick and easy for companies
to build highly accurate 3D models of any environment, look for lidar mobile
mapping to become prevalent than ever before.
