OSLO, 4-Jun-2019 — /EuropaWire/ — SEAT will debut its first ever electric car, Mii electric, in Oslo as part of its inaugural ‘SEAT on Tour’ roadshow. During SEAT’s European roadshow the company will bring the spirit of ‘Created in Barcelona’as well as its latest SEAT and CUPRA models, including the CUPRA Formentor and the all-electric SEAT el-Born, in Oslo, Liverpool, Paris and Milan.

SEAT is the brand with the youngest customer base, 10 years younger than the average and is one of the fastest growing volume car brands in Europe. The brand sold 202,600 cars in just the first four months of 2019, breaking all records. 80% of its cars are exported to 80 countries around the world.

Oslo, known as the electric vehicle capital of Europe, is going to be the first stop of the brand on its inaugural ‘SEAT on Tour’ roadshow. In Oslo, SEAT’s Mii electric will be premiered. The new electrical vehicle of SEAT is expected on the market by end of 2019 and will be one of the most affordable electric vehicles on offer. According to the company, the pre sales of the new Mii electric will begin in September 2019.

SEAT Minimó concept car, part of the brand’s micromobility strategy, will also be demonstrated in Oslo, along with the Mii electric. The SEAT Minimó concept car reaffirms SEAT’s commitment to urban micromobility and expands the easy mobility ecosystem that the brand is fostering.

SEAT is going to lead the urban micromobility strategy for the Volkswagen Group with the international premier of the Minimó concept vehicle that follows the launch of the SEAT eXS KickScooter powered by SEGWAY.

SEAT’s first all-electric vehicle, SEAT el-Born, based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, will also be on display in Oslo. SEAT el-Born is the second Group car to be built on the MEB platform.

Commenting on the exiting premieres, SEAT President Luca de Meo, said:

“Accessibility is one of most outstanding SEAT values and the ‘SEAT on Tour’ initiative reinforces it by bringing our novelties close to some of the key countries for the brand. As a world reference in electric mobility, it makes complete sense to take the Mii electric as a world premiere to Norway and showcase SEAT’s latest technology with two products that will shake the market in 2020, the SEAT el-Born and the CUPRA Formentor. Now is the right time and Oslo is the right place.”

CUPRA, just an year after it has become an independent brand, will join the SEAT on Tour roadshow to continue conquering car enthusiasts around the world.

CUPRA has remarkable sales achievements in the first four months of 2019 with the brand having sold 7,900 vehicles, which represents 82,3% growth over previous year.

Commenting on this achievement, CUPRA CEO and SEAT Executive Vice-President for Sales and Marketing Wayne Griffiths, said:

“We are expanding our footprint by strengthening our product range and completing the implementation of our distribution network, currently at 222 CUPRA Corners. In addition, the CUPRA Formentor and its high-performance plug-in hybrid engine revs up our path towards electrification. In the next few months we will prove that performance can also be electrified.”

Following the roadshow in Oslo, Norway, SEAT and CUPRA will be in Liverpool on June the 18th, where SEAT classic cars will also be on display. Paris will follow the Frankfurt Motorshow at end of September and the journey will finish in Milan during November 2019.

SEAT is considering to take its roadshow to Latin America, once its tour across Europe is over. Latin America is a key market for SEAT, which shows strong sales performance especially in Mexico.
