The UConnect system of Fiat Chrysler is being disturbed by constant reboots due to an update in 2017 and 2018 models. Many car owners are upset because radio, navigation, reversing camera and other functions no longer work.

An over-the-air update for the UConnect system, which has been distributed since February 9, 2018, has angered many owners of a Fiat Chrysler Group vehicle. This not only affects Fiat and Chrysler vehicles, but also Jeep, Dodge and other brands. Many of these cars are new.

The system reboots approximately every 45 to 60 seconds, making listening to the radio practically impossible. Since the central screen is also required for reversing camera systems, navigation, Apple Carplay or Android car as well as some air conditioning functions and the settings of the vehicle, this operation does not work without interruptions.

Certain 2017 & 2018 Uconnect systems may experience a reboot every 45-60 seconds. Our engineering teams are investigating the cause and working towards a resolution. We will post here as soon as more information is available and apologize for the inconvenience.

“We have determined that the problem is related to the SiriusXM Travel Link services and are about to disable them on the respective Uconnect systems, and the time for a permanent fix will be announced as soon as it becomes available.”
