Charging network operator Electrify America has launched a new mobile application, pricing structure and membership plans.
The app, which allows users to manage their charging session from their smartphone, has the following features:
- Locate a charging station, including the number of chargers available and connector types
- Pay for a charging session
- Start a charge
- Track a charging session, including information about state of charge
Electrify America has also introduced a new pricing structure designed to support faster charging. The new structure is priced by the minute and includes reduced pricing for EVs capable of charging at up to 75 kW. Per-minute costs depend on the EVs’ maximum charging capability, which are divided into three power levels: 0-75 kW, 76-125 kW, and 126-350 kW. Prices range from 15 cents to 99 cents per minute, replacing the company’s previous 30 cents to 35 cents per minute pricing.
The company has also launched two new membership plans: Electrify America Pass and Electrify America Pass+. Users with the basic membership pay a standard per-minute cost and $1 session fee. Electrify America Pass+ is a subscription plan that includes the lowest per-minute price and a $4 monthly subscription fee.
