New Delhi: Continental AG has launched its new powertrain plant in Wuhu in China, built over an area of 24,000 square meters.
This new facility will further boost the production capacity for low-emission combustion technologies and new energy vehicles, claims the company.
Also, this facility comes with smart factory solutions that are expected to strengthen productivity, says the company in a release.
Continental AG has invested an amount of around 28 billion euros for the facility. It has a shop floor equipped with quality analysis room, spare parts room and a sample room as well.
This production plant is expected to create 600 new jobs, claims Continental.
Andreas Wolf, CEO of Powertrain, said, “China is the world’s largest automotive market and I am delighted to witness the opening of the new powertrain facility in Wuhu.”
He also said, “Our new plant in Wuhu is not only a reaction to the growing demand for Powertrain technologies in China, driven by local and global emission targets, but also demonstrates our strong confidence in and commitment to our local customers and business partners.”
Enno Tang, President and CEO of Continental China, said, “With the fast development of China’s urbanization, air pollution in China’s key urban areas is a significant issue, and with 1.4 billion Chinese people there is a huge demand for clean mobility.”
He further added, “The opening of our new facility in Wuhu enhances our capability to meet customer requirements in terms of both combustion and electric technologies.”
