Porsche has received 30,000 reservations for the electric Taycan sports car, Porsche human-resources manager Andreas Haffner recently told the German publication Handelsblatt.
“There are 30,000 orders for the Taycan,” she said.

Handelsblatt reported that the reservations require a deposit of around $2,800. A Porsche representative told Business Insider that over 20,000 people worldwide have shown “serious interest” in buying a Taycan, but noted that those people have only put themselves on a list of potential customers through a Porsche dealership. Putting your name on the list does not require a deposit, the representative said.
In March, Porsche said it was increasing production of the Taycan due to high demand. Deliveries for the Taycan, Porsche’s first all-electric production vehicle, will begin near the end of this year.
