Shell subsidiary Greenlots has installed an ABB DC fast charger in Singapore, the first of 10 to be installed at Shell stations in the country over the next few months.
Singapore has amped up its efforts to establish an EV infrastructure in anticipation of increased demand. In October, it attracted Dyson to open an EV factory site in the country. Though currently headquartered in Los Angeles, Greenlots was founded in Singapore over a decade ago.
Greenlots CEO Brett Hauser said, “Greenlots and Shell have been exploring synergies since we were acquired earlier this year. This project demonstrates our collective commitment to enable electrified transportation around the world, specifically in Singapore, where Greenlots was founded, and bolsters Greenlots’s expansion in Southeast Asia. Supporting Shell’s EV charging network in Singapore is a logical extension of the work we’ve been doing there to provide charging solutions at home, at work, for fleets and on-the-go.”
Frank Muehlon, Head of ABB’s global business for EV Charging Infrastructure, said, “With more than 11,000 DC fast chargers sold across 76 countries worldwide, ABB plays a leading role in the development of sustainable mobility with its innovative and digital technologies and has participated in a growing number of projects around the world and in Singapore. This latest project will further accelerate Singapore’s transition to a future mobility ecosystem that is safer, cleaner and more accessible.”
