Singapore: Autonomous E-Shuttle officially launched

The Autonomous E-Shuttle on the offshore island Sentosa has officially started.

Already before over a year The trial run of an autonomous e-shuttle on Singapore’s Sentosa Island has begun. Now the service is open to the public. Since the 26th of August and until the 15th of November you can use the shuttle.

Along the coast you can drive with the self-propelled shuttle over 5.7 kilometers. There are beaches, the golf club and resorts hit. The concept was developed in collaboration with the company ST Engineering, the Department of Transportation of Singapore and the Sentosa Development Corporation developed and operated.

A total of four Autonomous E-shuttles are in use: two larger buses and two minibuses of the brand Navya, The service is free and available on weekdays. The operating times are from 10 o’clock to 12 o’clock and from 14 o’clock to 16 o’clock.

The shuttles have crewwho can intervene in an emergency. In addition, several signs point to the autonomous driving service, so that all parties are informed.
