The recent proposals from the employers’ side are like a “spit in the face,” said union representative Jaroslav Povsik after the fourth round of negotiations on Wednesday.

According to information provided by the agency CTK Skoda the employees a wage increase of 15 percent with a term of 27 months. A Skoda spokesman confirmed the figures to the German Press Agency, but did not want to comment on the ongoing negotiations.

“What we have been offered for over 27 months is up to our demand for a year,” the union said. The carmaker from Mlada Boleslav, about 50 kilometers northeast of Prague, insists on a flexibilisation of the existing stratification model.
