Seat prevé acabar 2019 con más de 500.000 vehículos producidos

The Martorell plant will improve production by 8.5% and achieve the second best result in its history.

Seat He is on his way to get one of his best years at the Martorell factory. The company expects to close 2019 with a production of about 515,000 vehicles. This will make it the second best year in its history, according to company sources.

Those 515,000 cars represent an increase of 40,700 vehicles, 8.5%, compared to the 2018 figure, when the Martorell plant manufactured a total of 474,300 units. The planned production for all 2019 was only exceeded in 2001 by a small margin, as highlighted seat fonts.

Years of stability

The planned production figure, which is almost definitively confirmed, confirms the forecasts given by the president of Seat, Luca de Meo. There he predicted several years of stability in production above the threshold of 500,000 units, which approach 100% of capacity.

The forecast for the closing of 2019 was communicated by the company’s management to the unions at a meeting held at the end of September. The UGT union congratulates the staff for their professionalism and for having managed to overcome the production of 2018 “despite political and economic instability.”

Benefit payment improvement

In addition, the union reminds the staff that the improvement in production will be reflected in the operating result. “Thus the benefits will be greater and therefore the distribution of the same among all workers (for the third consecutive year) will be greater than that of previous years.” The staff of Seat received a few months ago a payment of 1,068 euros, close to the maximum amount provided for in the collective agreement, thanks to the improvement of the operating result, which amounted to 254 million in 2018.
