Vector: Data security through HSM software

The data security in the car is increasing in importance with the increasing digitization of traffic. Vector has come to grips with this and has released the vHSM. The abbreviation HSM stands for Hierarchical memory managementso that a hacking attack can go nowhere.

The product of Vector is vHSM. It is a software stack that affects hardware security. This includes many functions for encrypting the data. It is compatible with SecOC (Secure On-Board Communication), Secure Boot, Internet Protocol Security (IPsec), and Transport Layer Security (TLS).

The purpose of the vHSM is to accelerate development and simplify installation. The concept can be flexibly used by manufacturers and suppliers thanks to the modular design and configuration capability. It is after ISO 26262 ASIL D certified and has an AUTOSAR interface. The applications run on an isolated domain in their own memory.
