A judge in Colombia has ordered Uber to immediately cease it’s ride-hailing operations, Reuters reports.

The ruling is the result of a lawsuit filed against Uber by COTECH SA. Following the ruling, Colombia’s Superintendency of Industry and Commerce (SIC) said Uber violated market rules.

While Colombia’s Technology Minister deems ride-hailing apps as legal, transportation authorities disagree. SIC claimed Uber had a “significant advantage in the market” because of its app.

Uber has rejected the ruling and filed an appeal.
