Fresh from Series A round, Singapore’s Neuron Mobility forays into NZ

Singapore-based e-scooter startup Neuron Mobility has launched its distinctive orange e-scooters in Auckland, marking its foray into New Zealand, barely a month after raising its Series A round.

Neuron Mobility raised $18.5 million in Series A funding from GSR Ventures, Square Peg Capital and other investors in December 2019. Existing investors SeedPlus and SEEDS Capital also joined the round.

The company said that the fresh capital would be used to accelerate Neuron’s expansion into Australia, New Zealand and other Asia Pacific markets.

According to a statement, Neuron Mobility will deploy 880 of its next-generation N3 e-scooters in Auckland.

By the end of the first quarter of 2020, Neuron will maintain a fleet of 2,780 patented e-scooters in the Asia Pacific.

So far, the company has recorded over a million trips for its user community, enabling more than 200,000 users to cover 1.8 million km of city travel.

Neuron Mobility last raised a $3.8 million seed round exactly a year ago in December 2018. The round was then joined by 500 Startups, ACE Capital, Siri Ventures, SeedPlus, SEEDS Capital, angel investors and family offices.

Neuron Mobility earlier was selected by the Brisbane City Council to operate a fleet of 600 e-scooters in the city. The company claims that it is Australia’s largest e-scooter operator with permits to operate in Brisbane, Adelaide and Darwin.
