Ford just had one of its dreams come true and you’ll see it on your phone later this year.
The Unicode Consortium, which determines worldwide text standards and solicits proposals from the public for new emojis, approved a pickup emoji Wednesday and Ford may be to thank.
In 2018, the automaker petitioned Unicode to add a truck emoji and submitted a proposed design.
“When customers started demanding a truck emoji, we knew we had to help make it happen,” said Joe Hinrichs, Ford’s president, automotive, in a July news release.
The new red pickup emoji looks different than the blue version Ford created and the design will vary slightly based on vendor.
Pickup lovers can expect to start seeing the emoji on mobile phones in September or October, but some platforms may release earlier, according to Unicode.
Chevy was quick to have fun with its rival over the news.

Chevy tweeted an image of its own pickup emoji design towing the new emoji.
“Looks like @FordTrucks finally got the emoji they wanted. #NotOurTruckEmoji,” Chevy tweeted.
Ford North America Product Communications Manager Mike Levine fired back.
“You do realize that this tweet means you can *never* use the pickup truck emoji. Like never ever. Not tomorrow. Not next year. Not in 10 years. Never. I’m okay with this. #NotOurTruckEmoji,” Levine tweeted.
