Pune-based Flash Electronics, which manufactures more than 150 automotive products across the spectrum of electrical and electronics fields, has announced collaboration with two European companies for development and supply of electric vehicle (EV) components and battery management system (BMS).
Flash Electronics, which is exhibiting its expansive product portfolio at Auto Expo Components 2020 at Pragati Maidan is located in Hall 5GF, Stall No. 5.48.
Additionally, the company also showcased at least two dozen new components for the IC engine industry and a similar number of components for EVs. The announcements were made at Auto Expo Components, which is underway at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from February 6-9.

Speaking to Autocar Professional, Sanjeev Vasdev, managing director, Flash Electronics said that the first partnership announced is with Italy-based Askoll, an electric vehicle manufacturing company. The partnership revolves around supplying components for the manufacturing of the e-scooters manufactured by Askoll.
The second partnership is with France-based Enerstone, under which the Flash Electronics will develop advanced battery management systems (BMS). Vasdev claims that the BMS developed by them will help in increasing battery life of EVs by about 30 percent.
Comparison between passive balancing and Enerstone Active Balancing,
resulting in a +34% gain in battery life.
Currently, an average life of a battery is around 1,500-1,700 cycles. BMS involves a fast-charging mechanism, which will help in bringing down the charging time to about 25 minutes (for 80 percent charging) from about 4-5 hours at present. According to Vasdev, though the BMS is primarily for electric two-wheelers, the same system can also be used for passenger vehicles.
