FCA and AutoX to Collaborate for RoboTaxi in China

We’re excited to announce that we have entered into a partnership with FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V.) in self-driving robotaxi vehicles. We have integrated the AutoX AI Driver onto FCA Chrysler Pacifica and are launching this new platform for our robotaxi deployment in the China market.

We will deploy the first large scale RoboTaxi pilots in metropolitan cities in China, including Shenzhen and Shanghai, in the first half of 2020.

“AutoX positions ourselves as an enabler for automakers. The AutoX AI Driver is the most experienced driver for the unique traffic situations in China. With tons of real world data we have collected in the past few years, the AutoX Driver has adopted local driving styles in China to navigate in complex and dynamic urban conditions. We are proud to start deploying our technology and get a head start on the greatest opportunity of the industry — the mobility transformation in China,” says Jianxiong Xiao (a.k.a. Professor X), founder and CEO of AutoX.

At CES 2020, we have released our Chrysler Pacifica equipped with our latest generation of AI Driver. This new generation comes with a creative flat rooftop design, integrating an array of sensors including solid state LiDar sensors, radars, cameras, GPS, IMU, and also the AutoX XCU — the first Level-4 compute platform for the China road and traffic conditions.

We look forward to expanding our vehicle fleets with matured platforms for Level 4 autonomous driving such as the FCA Pacifica. In the coming series, we will share more on how AutoX Drivers make RoboTaxi fleets to go truly driverless.
