Volkswagen ID.4 was to be presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2020, canceled due to the Coronavirus. This is the second model made on the electric modular platform Meb, starting point of the ID.3 and of the future zero emission range of the Volkswagen group. The new Volkswagen ID.4, thanks to the high capacity batteries, will be able to travel up to 500 kilometers before connecting to the power outlet. The birth of ID 4 is part of an investment of 33 billion euros by 2024, which will lead to the production of 1.5 million electric cars in 2025.

Electric Volkswagen ID4 The new Volkswagen ID4 will be launched in 2020 after the arrival of the ID4 on the road. The new model carries the ID family. in the compact SUV segment. The exteriors have been designed to guarantee the best aerodynamic coefficient and the choice of having a short front area and a long wheelbase guarantee great space on board. An entire modular system of traction components is available for the ID.4, initially rear-wheel drive, later also with powerful all-wheel drive. The installation position of the high voltage battery under the passenger compartment remains unchanged, ensuring a low center of gravity of the car and a well balanced distribution of the load on the axles. As standard, the battery can be recharged with alternating current (AC), also three-phase and direct current (DC). Depending on the type of propulsion, the autonomy reaches up to 500 km.

Volkswagen ID.4 interior The dashboard of the ID.4 has been designed for maximum convenience and ease of use, as the management of the controls takes place almost entirely via touch functions or via intelligent Natural Voice voice control. It will be produced in the Zwickau plant with a neutral balance in terms of CO2 emissions along the entire value chain.
