Audi shows his first purely electrically powered electric car. The E-Tron prototype is already being tested in extreme climatic regions. Visually, he is indistinguishable from a normal Audi upper class model. It should be charged with up to 150 kW.

Audi has presented at the Geneva Motor Show the prototype of its first purely electrically powered model E-Tron. 250 development vehicles are already in use in tests under extreme conditions such as high heat or freezing cold. The SUV can accommodate five people, including luggage and should have a long-range range. A concrete indication is not made, not even to the battery. In the industry, a range of about 500 km is assumed.

The Audi E-Tron should be able to recharge at fast charging stations with up to 150 kW charging power. Such pillars do not yet exist, but Audi anticipates that the SUV with four-wheel drive could be ready in just 30 minutes for the next long-distance stage. End of 2018, the production version of the Audi E-Tron in the European market. Production takes place in Brussels.

In 2020, three fully electric Audis will be available. In addition to the SUV should a four-door Gran Turismo as well as a model in the compact segment. By 2025 there will be 20 electric cars and plug-in hybrids. To switch faster to electric vehicles, Audi wants to 2022 save about ten billion euros – in the development of vehicles with internal combustion engines.
