The Mercedes-Benz car company and Daimler Financial Services will create a new vehicle rental service that will allow customers to drive up to twelve new vehicles in a year for a fixed monthly rental fee, the company said in a statement.
Thanks to the application ‘Mercedes me Flexperience’, users can manage the vehicle they wish to rent, from the selection of the model, to its collection and return. In addition, the entire rental process will be digitized.
“With ‘Mercedes me Flexperience’, we have a completely digital mobility offer, our customers can flexibly use up to twelve vehicles per year according to their needs, with an offer of ‘car on demand'”, assured the Head of Marketing and Sales of Mercedez-Benz Cars, Britta Seeger.
The pilot tests of the application are starting in Beresa and Lueg, two of the largest car dealer groups within the German vehicle sales network of Mercedes-Benz. With the new offer, the brand targets both existing customers and new customer segments.
“This makes it easy for anyone to choose the most suitable Mercedes for every occasion, with ‘Mercedes me Flexperience’ we take a step towards a complete package of individual mobility,” added Seeger.
As the company reports, the benefits of digitalization go “far beyond the simple fact of managing the rental process with ‘Mercedes me Flexperience'”. Unlike traditional vehicle rental, the customer can select the mechanical characteristics, color and interior finish.
“With our experience in mobility and financial services, we are able to offer our customers the maximum flexibility in the use of the vehicle, from the selection and digital reservation of cars, to the change of vehicle”, said the CEO of Daimler Financial Services, Klaus Entenmann.
