MADRID, 8 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The car company Peugeot motorcycles, belonging to the PSA Group, will launch this year a service of ‘motorcycle sharing’ in the main Spanish cities, between which Madrid and Barcelona could be found, according to the firm announced this Thursday in the presentation of the new Peugeot 2.0 .

“Now that we have the product, we are talking with Spanish investors to create this year a service of ‘motorcycle sharing’ in the large Spanish cities, where there are mobility problems,” assured the director of Peugeot Motorcycles Spain, Francisco Dominguez.

This service will use the new Peugeot 2.0, which is an electric scooter with a power equivalent to a motorcycle of 50 cubic centimeters and with a real autonomy of 50 kilometers. Developed and produced in the United States by the subsidiary GenZe, it will be distributed in Europe by Peugeot Motorcycles.

Its aluminum chassis and Epoxy paint is “extremely strong” and is not sensitive to scratches. In addition, the new Peugeot Motorcycles scooter includes full LED lighting systems, a 16-inch front wheel, double brake disc, as well as a load capacity of up to 90 liters.

On the other hand, with a weight of 100 kilograms, it has a range of 50 kilometers and its removable battery allows full charging by cable or externally in three and a half hours.

The new Peugeot motorcycle is “ideal for corporations and ‘sharing'” because it incorporates a digital platform as a standard that allows fleet management and knowing the location of each vehicle by the delivery companies, as well as the payment in the case of the possible systems of ‘motor sharing’. Thanks to its seven-inch touch screen, the user can, among other things, unlock the vehicle with a ‘PIN’ code and see the remaining battery level.

“If we do not offer the market something that besides being a good product, is connected, we would be out of the market,” said Domínguez after stating that the company believes that electricity will be the substitute energy of combustion. “This is the start of a very intense five-year launch plan for both the corporate and private clients,” he added.

The new Peugeot 2.0 will arrive in Spain and the rest of Europe during the next summer for private customers and companies, where the company expects to sell close to 1,000 units in the first six months of its sale, and its launch price in the The national market will be 4,100 euros plus current taxes.
