Volvo: Android Auto because of Google Maps

The Swedish manufacturer Volvo integrates Android Auto mainly because of Google Maps.

Google Maps is probably still one of the most used navigation systems, especially because it works from the smartphone and you do not need a navigation system to be installed. It is part of Android Auto, what was recently Android Automotive was replaced. However, some manufacturers used it in their models beforehand.

Especially Volvo is a partner of Google Infotainment system and recently they explained why. The use of Google apps is so convenient and is wanted among customers. The manufacturer is particularly impressed by Google Maps and the navigation features.

Nevertheless, recently was again HERE voted best card provider. Overall, manufacturers are increasingly critical of integration. The systems suck data that manufacturers are reluctant to provide. Because Data is money.
