Frankfurt The carmaker attests to the smaller US competitor Tesla a technical lead in software. “What worries me the most is the capabilities in the assistance systems,” quotes the industry medium “Automobilwoche” VW-Boss Herbert Diess from a VW– internal webcast.
“500,000 Teslas function as a neural network that continuously collects data and offers the customer a new driving experience every two weeks,” Diess is quoted as saying. No other automaker can do that.
At Volkswagen, a newly founded car software organization should now catch up. VW is reportedly struggling with software problems with the new ID.3 electric car.
