The start-up Hongjing Drive has raised money for the development of autonomous driving.
The Corona crisis caused the flow of money to abate somewhat, but now it seems to be flowing again. The start-up Hongjing Drive announced last week that it had raised several million RMB. No exact amount was given. To clarify: An RMB corresponds to 0.13 euros. Not until the end of April Inceptio collected a lot of money.
The Chinese start-up is thus on the wave of companies in China. Because there the start-ups have recently blown to attack the leadership. They want to bring robot taxis to the market in the coming years. That also corresponds to the line of government China that L3 automation wants to put on the road in the next five years.
The money for Hongjing Drive came mainly from Silicon Valley. It should be used to further develop the technology. Hongjing Drive is working on a scalable computing platform that will serve as the brain for autonomous driving. The start-up is next to it Shanghai also in Detroit home.
The goal is the market around level 3 and you cooperate with the companies FAW, JAC and NOK. Until the end 2021 you want to have thousands of vehicles on the market at level 3.
