MADRID, Jul 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The maintenance of an electric car costs 30% less than that of a combustion one, according to data from the automobile company Peugeot, which ensures that a ‘zero emission’ model generates “significant savings” throughout its useful life compared to a gasoline or diesel model.
For example, Peugoet highlights that the cost of the energy needed to travel 100 kilometers with its e-208 ranges from 0.55 to 2.04 euros, compared to 5.2 euros for its equivalent diesel version and even more so if there is talk of a gasoline engine.
“Another important factor to take into account is maintenance, an aspect in which the electric is also more economical,” stressed the PSA Group firm, which insisted that electric cars are very technologically advanced, but mechanically they are “very more simple”.
A conventional car has around 30,000 parts and an electric one almost 60% less. Furthermore, most of this component savings comes from the propeller, “infinitely easier” in the case of ‘zero emissions’.
“The electric motor of a car basically has a shaft, a rotor, the winding, the brushes, the bearings, the stator and the casing. And it only has one moving part: the rotor. A gasoline or diesel engine has a huge number of parts, many of them mobile and therefore subject to wear “, explained Peugeot.
