The Renault Assembly plant in Valladolid reaches ten million vehicles manufactured

The “emblematic” unit corresponds to a Captur e-TECH acquired in Italy

VALLADOLID, Jul 17 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Body and Assembly factory that the automobile company Renault has in Valladolid has manufactured this Friday the 10 millionth vehicle since the firm began its production in the city in 1953.

The “emblematic” unit corresponds to a new Renault Captur e-Tech, a new plug-in hybrid version manufactured in Valladolid since last May, in Celadon Blue color and black roof destined for a client from Italy, the multinational points out through a statement sent to Europa Press.

On August 12, 1953, the first eleven Spanish Renault 4 CVs left the Assembly 1 factory to tour the city of Valladolid, still without registration, to the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. By the end of the year, the first 707 4/4 units had been manufactured, at a rate of about 10 units a day.

This factory produced 14 different models, reaching a total volume of just over 2.4 million units between 1953 and its closure in 1991, recalls the rhombus brand.

In 1972 the Assembly factory 2 was inaugurated, being a Renault R8 the first vehicle that went out on the production line. This is what is now known as the Valladolid Body and Assembly factory, after its unification with the Bodywork Unit that was inaugurated in 1964, which accumulates a production of about 7.6 million units.

67 years and 26 models have passed to reach 10 million vehicles since Renault began production in the city of Valladolid. The emblematic 10 million unit, which came out this morning from the line of the Body and Assembly factory, is a New Renault Captur e-Tech in Celadon Blue color and black roof waiting for an Italian customer who has decided on the new version plug-in hybrid new Captur, manufactured in Valladolid since last May.
