The automotive market rises 1.1% in July for the first time in the pandemic, to 117,929 units

The registrations of cars and SUVs stood at 117,929 units during the past month of July in Spain, 1.1% more compared to the 116,673 cars that were delivered in the same month of 2019, which is the first increase after starting the coronavirus pandemic, according to data from the manufacturers’ associations (Anfac), dealers (Faconauto) and vendors (Ganvam).

However, so far this year, car deliveries in the national market have accumulated a volume of 457,782 units, which represents a decrease of 43.3% compared to the data registered between January and July of the previous year.

By channels, sales to individuals experienced an increase of 6.9% in July, to 61,931 units, and a decrease of 36.4% since January, with 224,585 vehicles. For its part, last month 40,364 units were sold in the business channel, 0.2% less, and 160,446 units since the beginning of the year, 37.5% less.

In addition, 15,634 units were registered in the rental channel in July, 14.5% less, and so far this year these sales have fallen by 63.7%, to 72,751 units.

On its side, the renting channel concentrated last month 26,571 registrations of passenger cars, commercial vehicles, trucks and buses, 1.2% more than in the same month of 2019, while in the six months this figure fell by 41, 6%, up to 113,942 units.
