An employee who was faced with allegations of espionage has apparently died under circumstances that have not yet been clarified. A third-party debt has so far been excluded.

Düsseldorf The wiretapping affair at VW has apparently taken a dramatic turn. The employee identified by VW as a suspected spy is said to have died. The “Helmstedter Nachrichten” reported on this first. Accordingly, the body, which was found in a burning car in a small town near Helmstedt on Monday evening, is said to be the suspect. The newspaper relied on secure information with regard to the identity of the dead person. The family of the person in question has not yet been available for inquiries.
