Chinese mobility group Didi Chuxing has partnered with Facebook-owned WhatsApp to provide ride-hailing in Brazil, Reuters reports.
Operated by Brazilian service 99, the partnership will allow customers to request vehicles without going to another app. WhatsApp has about 120 million users in Brazil; 99 has about 20 million users and 750,000 drivers.
The service is currently available in four cities in the state of São Paulo and is expected to include the entire country by the end of the year.
