Europa Press: Zity installs telemetry solutions from Telefónica, Geotab and Mobileye000634 in its fleet

MADRID, 14 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The ‘car sharing’ services firm Zity has incorporated telemetry and driving assistance solutions into 100 vehicles in its fleet, thanks to collaboration with Telefónica Empresas, Geotab and Mobileye, according to the different companies.
The firms highlighted that these solutions help prevent accidents and allow them to obtain more information about their fleet of electric cars, which serves to improve the safety of users.
The collaborating companies indicated that this initiative is part of the Safe Driving project, which is a pilot test that will last for nine months and aims to offer a greater safety and driving experience for the user of Zity vehicles.
Thus, the CEO of the car-sharing firm, Javier Mateos, stressed that for Zity his main intention is to work to offer greater assistance and safety to users. “We continue to search for the best providers and the best technologies to provide a safe and different experience so that our users continue to choose our services,” he explained.

In this project, Telefónica Empresas has collaborated from the beginning analyzing the areas of opportunity for Renault ZOE electric vehicles and has also contributed to designing the final solution and training company personnel in the use of the platform and the analysis of information, as well as in the initial creation of predefined reports for the needs that may arise in the future, among which are to integrate these technological solutions in the more than 800 cars in its fleet.
“At Telefónica Empresas we are very aware of improving driving safety and accident prevention. For this reason, we have wanted to collaborate in this project together with Geotab and Mobileye. This initiative also anticipates maintenance services, which helps to reduce costs for companies like Zity, “said the director of Digital Transformation of Telefónica Companies, Agustín Cárdenas.
Thus, the 100 vehicles of this ‘car sharing’ platform already incorporate Geotab’s GO device, with which a better general management of the fleet is obtained and a safer driving behavior is promoted through information based on data.
In addition, Geotab GO Talk devices also provide drivers with real-time audible messages and comments, including some informational, others of interest or those related to driving behavior.
Likewise, the Zity models also incorporate, through this initiative, the Mobileye ADAS driving assistance system, a technology that reduces traffic accidents and road accidents using a single camera.
The system monitors driving and warns the driver in real time of the possible risks that are occurring to prevent possible collisions. The user receives different types of information and risk alerts through the display placed in the car.
“Telematics technology and the data it provides play a fundamental role in improving road safety and sustainability. At Geotab, we are very proud to contribute to this ambitious project and to collaborate in innovation and digitization in the management processes of the Zity fleet, “said Iván Lequerica, vice president for southern and western Europe at Geotab.
For his part, the head of Mobileye in Spain, Elías Izquierdo, explained that in his company they believe that the future of mobility passes through security and pointed out that Mobileye puts the latest technological advances at the service of this purpose.
