Walmart will sell cars in 250 of its stores

A year ago the giant of the retail distribution of the United States announced that it was entering a completely new part for them in terms of commercialization, that of the sale of vehicles. Until now, it offered this possibility in 25 of its establishments, but now it publishes that it will extend the initiative until reaching 250 points of sale.

The commercialization takes place through the platform CarSaverand according to the largest dealer network in the country, Autonation. The CarSaver will be one more part of the establishments, a kind of “posts” with specialized personnel at the service of potential customers.

Walmartis the largest supermarket chain in the US, with more than 11,000 stores in 28 countries and an employee number of more than 2.2 million. It is a giant of the retail trade that, with more than 50 years of history, has become part of the landscape in the North American region.

At these points of sale, the customer can not see the car physically, but they do receive all kinds of information, being able to set up a unit, receive quotes and even request financing for the acquisition of the car, always with respect to dealer vehicles located, at most , in a radius of 20 kilometers.

This new way of selling cars is an important saving for users, which is assuming, according to CarSaver, average discounts of $ 3,500 with respect to a vehicle purchased in a dealer to use. In addition, Walmart earns a profit close to $ 350 for each vehicle sold through its platform.

It is clear that times have changed, and that the entry of new “operators” in markets such as the sale of vehicles is great news for buyers, which minimize the stress typical of the process of buying a car, also improving the economic conditions of their agreements.
