Mercedes-Benz tease new MBUX Hyperscreen technology
Mercedes new fully electric EQS model will be fitted with a large curved screen which stretches the entire width of the vehicle’s central pillar. The screen will provide a range of high technology gadgets and fully personalised operating systems to control almost all car functions.
“And the hyperscreen not only is it, it’s almost like a piece of art, but it’s also a window into a world of digital content for the driver and for the passenger, for that matter.
“So I think this is a little bit of a game-changer. It takes our so-called MBUX system to the next level.”
Mercedes have confirmed the driver will be given a range of suggestions based on previous use which could aid them on busy journeys.
The user will be able to accept or reject the suggestions which will cut the time users spend fiddling with tools when behind the wheel.
He said: “Next to the things that we know well, to build frankly, the world’s most desirable cars, there are two technological trends that we’re doubling down on.
“Electrification and digitisation. So we’re pouring billions into these new technologies, of course, they will drive our path towards CO2 free driving.
“And on the other side, on the digital side with over the air capability, it will open up a new revenue and profit pool for us.
“So we’re well underway of capturing these new things. But this decade is going to be transformative, this is where it’s all going to happen.
“And we intend to pick up the pace and, and make the gradient for Mercedes to go into that new world even steeper.”
