PRESS RELEASE — Berlin | London, March 15th, 2021: Hubject & ev.energy join forces to simplify home and public EV charging through one app.
ev.energy and Hubject have signed a partnership deal to enable users of ev.energy’s home smart charging app and platform to get access to Hubject’s intercharge platform, the world’s largest cross-provider charging network with over 270,000 away from home EV charging points.
The new service will enable electric vehicle owners to track and access home and on-the-go charging through the ev.energy app. Users will also earn rewards for charging on certain networks and be able to pay for their roam charging through their home energy bill (through participating home energy suppliers).
ev.energy’s smart charging service already enables home charging electric vehicle owners to tap into the greenest and cheapest energy rates while ensuring their vehicle will be ready when they need it. ev.energy is compatible with any energy supplier and has a rapidly expanding list of partners that offer customers special rewards and discounts.
Outside of the home, Hubject’s platform provides access to the largest network of CPOs in Europe. By joining forces, ev.energy and Hubject will deliver a single service that enables electric vehicle owners to charge anywhere, using one platform launching an exclusive beta in Spring 2021.
The Cooperation of Hubject and ev.energy started when ev.energy won the first Hubject eMobility Start-Up Award competition at the Intercharge Network Conference 2020 (ICNC). At the ICNC, several young start-ups had the opportunity to present their innovative business models to play across the global eMobility market. ev.energy convinced the jury and snatched the hotly contested award. The prize set the foundations for the cooperation, and the two companies have planned a series of activities throughout 2021.
Nick Woolley, CEO of ev.energy says: “Both Hubject and ev.energy share a mission to simplify charging for electric vehicle owners. Christian’s approach is highly collaborative, and we share a number of key energy utility and car OEM clients. The synergy between our focus on home charging and Hubject’s focus on roaming makes me very excited about what we can deliver together in 2021 and beyond.”
Christian Hahn, CEO Hubject explains: “Cooperation is one of the key success factors in eMobility. Therefore it’s an excellent opportunity for both companies to join forces and extend each other’s business portfolio to provide a great customer experience. This cooperation is an example of reducing barriers between companies to work with each other as well as reducing the barriers for end customers to access private and public charging infrastructure.”
