Raül Blanco, secretario general de Industria: “El coche debe estar en el centro. Sin automoción, no hay transición ecológica”

The representative of the Government has participated in the conference organized by El Economista to analyze the evolution of the automotive sector.

At a time when the automotive sector needs more support than ever, the Government has conveyed its support to the industry. It has been done by Raül Blanco, Secretary General for Industry and Small and Medium Enterprises of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism. Blanco has shown his support for the automotive sector during his speech at the conference organized by The Economist.

During his speech, the representative of the Government has raised the role of the automobile in the economy and in the challenges that lie ahead. “Without the automotive industry, there is no ecological transition. The car must be in the center. Without it, there is no project. In addition, the automobile and the industry always respond ”.

Blanco has celebrated the announcement of different news such as the Plan presented by Renault during these weeks or the arrival of the first battery cell factory in Extremadura. «The pandemic if something has done is to accelerate trends. What we can do is accompany these processes. Companies are doing it. It is a unique occasion ”, he indicated.

The Secretary General for Industry wanted to take advantage of his intervention to ensure that the automotive industry should take advantage of the Recovery Plan and the resources of the European Funds. “The Administration must accompany companies to increase their capacities. For this reason, the first Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (Perte) will be aimed at this sector ”.

Dealers claim their place

At the same event as Raül Blanco, Marta Blázquez, executive vice president of Faconauto, defended the role of SMEs and dealers in this recovery. “You must not forget about them. To get to the new mobility, you have to take into account the distribution. Therefore, we have asked for European Funds. You cannot keep everything in factories and large corporations, they also have to reach SMEs. We hope that there is such sensitivity ”.

In addition, Blázquez invited dealers to move forward and turn their business model into mobility centers and promote mobility platforms such as niw.es.
